A door-to-door team that earns on every install

Your appointment setters book in-home visits on a real calendar. Your closers walk the homeowner through an exact installed price and close at the kitchen table, or leave a QR code behind. Your company earns 45% of the net profit on every AC, furnace, or heat pump install, and you set what closers and setters earn out of it.

  • 45% of net profit, company-wide
  • Calendar booker for setters, synced with Google and Apple Calendar
  • QR leave-behind keeps the credit when they buy later
  • Paid automatically when the customer signs off on the install

How it works

Five steps. Your team books and closes; the quote wizard prices the job and a licensed local installer does the work.

  1. Step 1

    Apply

Tell us about your company and how your team knocks. No account is created yet; a person reads every application.

  2. Step 2

    Approved within 2 business days

You set your password, connect payouts, and set your closer and appointment setter rates. Your company link and QR code are ready.

  3. Step 3

    Add closers and setters

Add closers, and add appointment setters under a closer. Closers can bring on their own setters. Setters cannot recruit.

  4. Step 4

    Setters book the visit

At the door, a setter opens the booker, picks a free slot on the closer's calendar, and the homeowner gets a confirmation. The lead is created with the setter attached.

  5. Step 5

    Closers close in the home

The closer walks the homeowner through the quote on a tablet or phone. Not ready tonight? Leave the QR code: when they finish checkout later, the closer and setter still get the credit.

The door-to-door model, in plain terms

One share for your company, two positions, two rates you control, no fine print that changes the number. Read the full program terms.

  • 45% of net profit, company-wide

Net profit is what the customer paid, minus equipment and labor cost, minus the installer's share. Your company earns 45% of it on every sale through your link or any closer's link. Bigger jobs pay more.

  • Two positions, two rates you set

Default closer rate 20% and appointment setter rate 10% of net, paid by you out of your 45%. You keep the rest, 15% at the defaults. Give any one person their own rate, as long as closer plus setter still fits inside 45%.

  • A real calendar, not a spreadsheet

Closers set working hours and connect Google Calendar or Apple Calendar both ways, so setters only see open slots. Homeowners get a text and email confirmation, reminders, and a link to reschedule or cancel; closers and setters are notified of every change.

  • QR leave-behind keeps the credit

Every closer, and your company, can download their link as a QR code (PNG, or a printable PDF sheet of business cards). A visit's QR opens that homeowner's quote, so a sale finished days later still credits the closer and the setter for 60 days.

  • Closer promo codes, closer-funded

Closers can create their own promo codes to close a deal. The discount comes only out of that closer's commission on the sale, never your margin, the setter's, or the installer's, and it is capped so it can never be more than the closer earns. You see every code and every use.

  • Paid when the customer signs off

When the homeowner signs and accepts the finished install, your company's share is approved and sent by direct deposit automatically. Your team's earnings are approved at the same moment; you pay them and record it in your portal.

  • 60-day attribution on every link

A homeowner who comes through a closer's link or QR code is credited for 60 days, even if they come back later on their own to finish. A booked visit's QR beats any other link.

  • Refunds void the share

If an order is cancelled or refunded, the share on it is voided along with the team's earnings. If it was already paid, we settle it against your next payout.

Worked example

Default rates on one install

A homeowner pays $12,000 for a new system. Install Direct pays your company $2,160 (45% of net); how it splits depends on who booked and closed it.

Customer paid (pre-tax)
$12,000
Equipment cost
minus $6,000
Installer’s share (20% of the remainder)
minus $1,200
Net profit
$4,800

A setter booked it, a closer closed it: how the $2,160 splits

Closer
$96020% of net
Appointment setter
$48010% of net
You keep
$72015% of net

The closer's own lead, no setter

Closer
$96020% of net
No setter

You keep
$1,20025% of net

Same sale, the closer gave a $600 promo code

Closer (after the promo)
$36020% less $600
Appointment setter
$48010% of net
You keep
$72015% of net, unchanged

The customer pays $11,400. The whole $600 comes out of the closer’s $960; your company is paid $1,560 because it owes the closer that much less, so what you keep stays $720. The setter and the installer are paid exactly the same.

Those are the default rates; you set your own. Through your company link you keep all $2,160.

Your company's 45%

$2,160

45% of $4,800 net profit, paid to you by direct deposit when the customer signs off on the install. At the default rates you keep $720 after paying the closer and the setter.

This example shows how the math works. It is not a promise or a typical result; what you earn depends entirely on the installs your referrals pay for.

Earnings are not guaranteed. Most partners earn little or nothing; what you earn depends entirely on paid installs by real customers. Nobody is paid for recruiting, there is no fee to join, and nothing has to be bought.

Who it’s for

Companies that already put people on doorsteps and at kitchen tables. On your own, and selling online? The affiliate program is instant, link driven, and pays 15% of net directly.

  • Door-to-door sales companies

Solar, pest, security, roofing, fiber. You already run knockers and closers. Add a product every homeowner eventually needs, with a real price on the screen.

  • Trades shops that don't do HVAC

Plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling. Your techs are already in the home; one of them can book a visit for a closer on the spot.

  • In-home sales teams

Teams that already sit at kitchen tables. The quote wizard gives your closers an exact installed price in minutes, with financing shown per month.

  • Canvassing and field marketing agencies

Agencies that run field teams on contract. Setters book, closers close, and your dashboard shows every closer and setter's results.

Dealers, closers, and appointment setters each get their own training library: running a door-to-door team, booking a visit, the in-home close, the QR leave-behind, promo codes, and how everyone gets paid.

Frequently asked questions

How does approval work?
Apply below with your company and how your team sells. Our office reviews every application by hand, usually within 2 business days. If approved, you get an email with a link to set your password; your dealer portal opens with your company link, QR code, and an empty team ready to fill. Applying creates no account and costs nothing.
What do closers and appointment setters do?
Appointment setters knock doors and book in-home visits on a closer's calendar using the booker in their portal. Booking creates the homeowner's lead with the setter attached. Closers run the visit: they walk the homeowner through the quote on their own link and close in the home, or leave their QR code behind so the homeowner can finish checkout later. Setters get no link; they are credited through the appointment.
How is the money split?
Your company earns 45% of the net profit on every sale through your link or a closer's link. You set a closer rate (default 20%) and an appointment setter rate (default 10%), and you keep the rest (15% at the defaults). On a closer's own lead with no setter, the closer earns their rate and you keep 25%. On a sale through your company link, you keep all 45%. Closer plus setter can never add up to more than 45%.
Who can recruit?
You can add closers and appointment setters. Closers can add their own setters, because more setters means more booked visits. Setters cannot recruit. Nobody is paid for recruiting: every dollar comes from a paid install.
How does the calendar work?
Each closer sets working hours and can connect Google Calendar or subscribe from Apple Calendar, and import an iCloud calendar, so personal events block time. Setters only see free slots and a booking can never double-book a closer. The homeowner gets a confirmation by text (if they agreed) and email, reminders before the visit, and a link to reschedule or cancel. The closer and setter are notified of every change. You and our office can see every appointment.
What if the homeowner does not buy at the visit?
Leave the QR code behind. It opens the homeowner's own quote from that visit, and when they finish checkout, even days later, the closer and the setter both get the credit. The link lasts 60 days.
Can closers offer a discount?
Yes, with their own money only. A closer can create promo codes in their portal; the page shows exactly how much of their commission each code costs before they save it, and the discount is limited so it can never exceed what the closer earns on that order. Your margin, the setter's rate, and the installer's pay never change. Every code, use, and discount total shows on the closer's page, your promo codes page, and your payout statements.
When do we get paid?
When the homeowner signs and accepts completion of the install, and the job is verified with no open dispute or refund, your company's share is approved and paid by direct deposit automatically. The earnings you owe your closers and setters for that sale are approved at the same moment. Install Direct pays your company only; you pay your team however you pay people and record it in your portal.
What is net profit?
Net profit is the net profit (sale price after promos, minus equipment and labor cost and the installer's share). It is the same number the platform uses to pay its own installers, so it is not a figure we can quietly redefine. Sales tax is never part of it. A closer's promo code is taken from the closer's commission, not from the base.
Can someone on my team also be an affiliate?
No. One email, one program. Closers and setters earn through your team at the rates you set; independent affiliates earn 15% of net directly from Install Direct. An email that already has an Install Direct account cannot be added to a team.
What are our door-to-door compliance duties?
You are responsible for local solicitation permits, honoring do-not-knock lists and no-soliciting signs, TCPA-compliant calls and texts by your setters, and the FTC Cooling-Off Rule: a homeowner who buys after an in-home visit may cancel within 3 business days, and the checkout shows that notice. The dealer terms spell this out.
Do we have to say we earn a commission?
Yes. You and everyone on your team must clearly disclose that you earn a commission when you recommend Install Direct, at the door and wherever a link or QR code is shared. The FTC endorsement guides require it, and so do the dealer terms.
Are dealer earnings taxable?
Yes. You are an independent dealer, not an employee. You fill in a W-9 in your portal when you add your bank account, and we issue a 1099-NEC if you cross the IRS reporting threshold. What you pay your team is between you and them, and any reporting that requires is yours.
Can I run search ads?
You may advertise, but nobody on your team may bid on the Install Direct name, our domain, or misspellings of them in paid search, or pose as Install Direct. A violation by a closer or setter is a violation by the dealer.
